BREAKING NEWS: APPLE CROP IN PERIL, HELP NEEDED!

We just received this e-mail from Portland Farmer's Market Volunteer Coordinator/Site Manager Amber Holland about a Portland Farmer's Market vendor who needs your help. Please read, and if you can, please help David and La Mancha Ranch out this weekend!

PFM VENDOR WHO NEEDS HELP

Hi all:

One of our vendors faces an unexpected weather situation and we have offered to issue a call for help on his behalf. The vendor is David Landis of La Mancha Ranch & Orchard in Sweet Home, Oregon. You may know David for his delicious, organic apples, pears and apple cider that he brings to our Saturday PSU market. The weather situation is 50+ mile an hour winds threatening to wreak havoc on La Mancha's ripe apple crop. David will begin harvesting tomorrow and continue into Saturday until the trees are bare and the apples have been saved from the storm. Would you be willing to volunteer time to help with the harvest or know of anyone who could lend a hand? If so, please call David at 541.367.6262 and pass this appeal on to interested parties.

Thank you!

Amber Holland
